Dr Julian Haszard, Orthodontist
Raised on a farm in the Taranaki, the son of a dentist, Julian gained a rich breadth of experience from training and working in NZ, Australia and the UK before coming home to set up his practice in the heart of New Plymouth back in 2010.
As a registered specialist orthodontist, Julian has undergone more than 4,000 hours of specialist training to attain the highest qualification available for assessing, preventing and treating any problems related to the alignment of your teeth and jaws.
Committed to delivering a service that is super modern and super friendly, Julian will always take the time to discuss all available options and solutions to ensure that every patient gets the best possible advice and treatment.
Outside of work, Julian enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, fishing, and climbing on Mt Taranaki. He’s also deeply committed to fund raising and volunteering in Nepal for SmileHigh; a charity he co-founded in 2004.
Registered Orthodontic Auxiliary
Rebecca qualified as an Orthodontic Auxiliary in 2016 after joining Total Orthodontics in 2015. After a stint in Australia in 2019 Rebecca returned to Total Orthodontics in 2020. Her love for orthodontics has developed over the years working as an Orthodontic Auxiliary. She is very knowledgeable and is highly rated by our patients. Rebecca has a very creative mind and in her spare time she enjoys physical activity, and spending time with her young family.
Registered Orthodontic Auxiliary
Debbie joined the Total Orthodontics team in 2017 after been a New Zealand registered nurse for eight years. Debbie achieved her NZDA Dental Assisting certificate and Orthodontic Auxiliary registration. Debbie is hard working and friendly, she is happy to answer any questions you may have about your orthodontic treatment. She also assists Julian at the Hawera clinic. In her spare time Debbie enjoys going cooking and baking. She loves New Plymouth and finds it a wonderful place to bring up her family.
REGISTERED ORTHODONTIC AUXILIARY
With over 20 years as an Orthodontic Auxiliary Kim enjoys helping patients to achieve healthy, confident smiles and being a part of their orthodontic journey. Building strong relationships with patients and providing quality care are some of the most rewarding aspects in her life.
Outside of work, she is a proud mum of two kids. When she is not at practice you will often find her working on house renovations and enjoying the challenge of transforming her home.
ORTHODONTIC ASSISTANT/TRAINEE AUXILIARY
With over 20 years of experience as a Dental Assistant Jess has developed a passion for patient care and helping people feel confident in their smiles. She is currently furthering her skills by training to become an Orthodontic Auxiliary, and she enjoys learning new aspects of orthodontic treatment and care.
Outside of work she is a proud mum of 2 children and loves spending quality time with her family
Trainee Auxiliary|Administrator | Lab Tech
Rachel joined Total Orthodontics in 2017 after finishing secondary school. Having been one of Julian’s first patients Rachel has had an interest in orthodontics from a young age. She is currently training to become a registered Orthodontic Auxiliary. She understands what orthodontic treatment is like from a patient’s aspect and is always happy to answer any questions you may have. She is well liked by the patients and other staff members. In her spare time, Rachel enjoys playing football as well as spending time with her friends and family.
Treatment Coordinator
Madina joined Total Orthodontics in March 2025. Fully certified in the accountancy and hospitality industries Madina moved professionally to the Orthodontic field. Proud mum of two wonderful boys, Madina enjoys sport and international travel. With a hospitality mindset in Orthodontics Madina loves helping people smile everyday.
Orthodontic Assistant
A former patient Peyton joined our practice to pursue a career in orthodontics. Driven by a passion for helping people achieve healthy and confident smiles.
When Peyton is not reading or out for a run, you will usually find her hanging out with her family and enjoying life’s simple moments.
Receptionist
As the first point of contact Nam enjoys welcoming patients and creating a great experience form the moment you walk through the door. Nam loves meeting new people and being part of a team that helps patient’s feel comfortable and cared for. Having competed nationally in swimming and surfing, Nam developed a strong appreciation for a dedication and team work. When Nam is not working you will find her enjoying the Taranaki outdoors.
Orthodontic Assistant
Greer is an experienced assistant and patient the same time.
Outside of work she is dedicated firefighter who takes pride in serving community. Greer loves fishing, running and spending quality time with her family.
OFFICE MANAGER
Lorraine works part time as our Accounts Manager and receptionist, she is always ready to help with appointments and any administrative enquires that you may have. Lorraine and her daughter have both had braces so she understands what Orthodontic treatment is like from both a patient and parent aspect. Patients and staff members love her happy vibe and sense of humor; it’s hard not to smile when talking to her. She is a motherly person who keeps herself busy with her three kids, pets and gardening hobbies.
