Dr Julian Haszard, Orthodontist
Raised on a farm in the Taranaki, the son of a dentist, Julian gained a rich breadth of experience from training and working in NZ, Australia and the UK before coming home to set up his practice in the heart of New Plymouth back in 2010.
As a registered specialist orthodontist, Julian has undergone more than 4,000 hours of specialist training to attain the highest qualification available for assessing, preventing and treating any problems related to the alignment of your teeth and jaws.
Committed to delivering a service that is super modern and super friendly, Julian will always take the time to discuss all available options and solutions to ensure that every patient gets the best possible advice and treatment.
Outside of work, Julian enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, fishing, and climbing on Mt Taranaki. He’s also deeply committed to fund raising and volunteering in Nepal for SmileHigh; a charity he co-founded in 2004.
Kelly is currently away on maternity leave and will be rejoining us in the near future. During her time off she will be enjoying the company of her new born son Maxwell and continuing to run her horse riding school in Egmont Village.
Lauren is the youngest member of our team who first started working in 2014 after school hours. She is now a full time employee working both as a chairside assistant and receptionist. While working here she has developed an interest in dentistry and wishes to further her career at university in 2017.
Saori has worked with Julian since he began practicing in 2011. Her friendly and capable nature makes orthodontic visits easy, and with both her own children having received orthodontic treatment, Saori is sensitive to the options and pressures involved from both the parent and the child’s point of view. Saori is a talented tennis player, like her daughter Hikaru. Her son Nyuki was part of the winning Taranaki Smokefree Rockquest band.
Registered Orthodontic Auxiliary
Rebecca is a fully qualified orthodontic auxiliary. Her love for orthodontics has developed over the past year of working and is highly rated by our patients. Rebecca has a very creative mind and in her spare time she enjoys doing arts and crafts, mainly with clothing. Rebecca also assists Julian at the Hawera orthodontic clinics.
A recent addition to the team, Gemma’s efficient manner and lab work skills make her a real asset. Previously working in Levin, she is another experienced dental assistant who has moved into orthodontic work. When she is not working, Gemma is a fantastic baker and craftsperson.
Lorraine works part time as our receptionist, she’s always ready to help you with appointments and any administrative enquiries that you might have. Patients and staff members love her happy vibe and sense of humour; it’s hard not to smile when talking to her. She is a very motherly person who keeps herself busy with her 3 kids, horses and dog.
